Past
BritXbox started off as a simple community forum created as a place for British Xbox Live enthusiasts to visit, discuss new games and arrange matches. A strong word of mouth campaign saw the site grow steadily over the coming months with many British gamers who previously used websites like TeamXbox and Xbox2k finding themselves a home on BXB.
Around three months later BXB, launched its front page services and content was provided by a user contribution system where news, videos and reviews could be submitted to the front page. As well the front page, BXB began offering free forums for UK Clans, and it continues to be a popular service to this day with over 50 clans taking advantage of the BXB Clan Community.
Our focus on building a community was taken to the next level when we decided to run the country's first Xbox LAN event. This unique event took place at King Edward's Community College on Saturday June 28th 2003, paving the way for a further four LAN events to be held since, a number of which have been covered in the national gaming press.
Michael Rossell then joined our team after being heavily involved in running the LAN events and used his experience as a journalist and a PR Officer to begin a drive to bring the users of BXB more and improved content.
Such was the success of our LAN events and our original editorial content that in January 2005 BXB was accepted into Microsoft's Xbox Community Network putting us among the top sites in the UK.
2005 also saw our first ever outing to E3 from which we provided our own
brand of unique coverage of the event for our users in the forum of a series
of short video diaries, in which we gave our impressions and feeling about
the event, as well as video footage of new games and editorial coverage.
